passport, what passport,

passport adventures, many have come and gone, some have been shared and others quietly handled,  friends/family

a while back, someone forgot his passport so he could not cross the Canadian border

someone else did not have all the correct paperwork so had to revisit the passport agency in NYC at the crack of dawn

recently someone made travel arrangements and on the day of travel realized the passport had expired

(what’s your passport mishap?)

realizing that you can apply for your home country passport and still maintain a link to your homeland (priceless)

Bread without White Flour

I love bread.  I recently took a trip and was of what bread means to various people.  My aunt made pumpkin bread, and coconut bake.  The bake is something we eat in the West Indies and it can be eaten with cheese and jam, as well as cod fish or smoked herring.  It can even be with shark and flying fish.  When it is served hot it is the best and I have never had a bad moment when the bread was in play. It is either a great breakfast dish or used at a get together at the beach or as a special meal for dinner.

Each culture has a bread and, so to go off grid–how can you just scratch it from your diet!!  All things in moderation I say.

Here are some recipes without flour.

Do you have simple dish/bread etc that can always bring people together and is always a winner no matter what it is served with, and when it is served??

Happy Eating!  When in doubt BREAD IT.  Add some bread to the meal, make some bread as the main meal and bread the meat, as in bread crumbs.  There is no fail here!!!

Spring Potluck 2015

The theme–holidays falling in the Spring, cook a food associated with it.

I decided to do Mexican Lasagna.  Here are some of the other dishes that people brought to the event.  See below for my commentary.

I always like the potluck events but as I attend them I am less and less interested in interaction.  I people watch and just come to enjoy the food.  (Is that bad of me?)  What can I say, I enjoy food.  I may leave this group as I have not been able to really make a mark in the food business so I really have nothing to offer these professionals and lifers.  It was fun while it lasted and maybe if something changes in the future, I will rejoin.

Take are and happy eating!!!!!
